My name is Jordan and I currently study Level 3 IT at South Essex College. I have a big passion for IT and computers in general as I have been around them ever since I was 10 years old, this includes playing games on them and later on actually looking inside one and removing/adding components. When I first looked inside a computer for the first time when I was around 14-15 years old, I had no clue what was what, I then learned what component was what and it was then more comfortable around a computer. In college I’m learning about how to keep your computer safe from different viruses, how to protect yourself online when browsing or shopping, how to build and strip down a computer and more.
My college has placed me in work experience to fit me into the lifestyle of work revolving around IT. I can learn many skills in work experience that I maybe can’t learn in a college classroom. Work experience can show me a lot of things to do with computers and how a particular company works and how the people in the company work together to get their jobs done. Within this I can gain new skills for the future ahead for the career I would be taking and can also make me more comfortable in the work area. Work experience is all about your future in the workplace, whether it will be making databases, building websites or answering calls for support, the experience you will get will help you in the long run.
